Caroline Gill is a vocalist, teacher and coach with a background in the visual, musical and physical arts. She has been working with the voice for over 20 years and is a qualified voice movement therapist, yoga teacher and performer.
I grew up in North East Scotland and originally trained as a visual artist. Singing was something I dicovered as a teenager and gradually the voice as an expressive instrument became my main focus . For many years now I've been exploring the voice in all sorts of ways - through creative work, musical projects, singing in bands, recording and session singing, teaching and therapeutic coaching, Indian and Western vocal training, radio presenting, extended vocal work, improvisation and performance research.
A training in Voice Movement Therapy (1998-2000) was a radical and provocative exploration into the psychology of the voice. The remit of this work is to make art and creative process out of the stuff of our lives. My other main area of training has been in yoga and other body based practices and this underpins the somatic and integrative approach I have to vocal work - particulary in relation to breathing, mind/body congruence and the state of 'presence' that arises when we are fully at home in ourselves.
I have an established a client practice in Bristol and over the last decade have worked with hundreds of individuals and groups from wide-ranging backgrounds and with varied remits.
Some recent clients include:
HEFCE - one-to-one clients
